Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

7. What is the difference between central lubrication and a single-point lubricator?

Central lubrication systems and single-point lubricators are both used to automate the lubrication of machines, but they are designed for different applications. A single-point lubricator is a compact device that automatically supplies lubricant to one lubrication point over a predefined period of time. These lubricators are often used on individual bearings, electric motors, fans or smaller machines with only a few lubrication points.

A central lubrication system, on the other hand, can supply lubricant to multiple lubrication points from a central pump. The system typically consists of a pump, distribution blocks and tubing that transport the lubricant to different parts of the machine.

Central lubrication systems are commonly used on larger machines, conveyor systems, production lines and mobile equipment where many lubrication points need to be serviced automatically.
